On May 11, Li Hongjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, Secretary of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Ganjiang New Area, went to the front line to investigate the water environment governance work. During the investigation, Li Hongjun visited the Ruzi Bridge Pumping Station, Ruziting Park, Bayi Park and other places successively, inspected the water quality and park environment, listened to the relevant work reports, and learned in detail about the renovation of the water intake point of the Ruzi Road Pumping Station, as well as the water quality and water replenishment and activation of West Lake, East Lake, South Lake and North Lake. Li said that Nanchang is rich in water resources and has a well-developed water system with “Ganjiang River passing by and numerous rivers and lakes distributed”. The people in Nanchang love and cherish water. Doing a good job in water environment governance is of great significance for enhancing people’s well-being and improving the city’s quality. All relevant units should unify their thinking, raise their position, thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, firmly establish and practice the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, adhere to systematic thinking, strengthen meticulous management, further enhance the comprehensive governance of water environment, and strive to create a water ecological environment boasting “unobstructed rivers, clear waters, green banks and beautiful scenery” to better meet people’s needs for a better life. It is necessary to do a solid job in dredging the sediment at the bottom, underwater cleaning, and replenishing fresh water. We should also promote in a coordinated manner the clearance of bare soil along the bank, the maintenance of greenery, and the removal of dead and miscellaneous trees. We should intensify the efforts to clear floating objects in the water and garbage along the water front, and continuously improve the water quality. It is imperative to regularly monitor water quality to keep abreast of the water quality in real time, improve the long-term management mechanism, and promote the continuous improvement of the water ecological environment. We must intensify efforts to improve the environment along the lake shore, meticulously design the buildings along the shore, implement unified planning, create distinctive highlights, open up more Spaces, and effectively beautify the water shore and the environment along the shore.
Li emphasized that many urban parks in Nanchang are built along water and have a beautiful ecological environment. We should learn from the good experience and practices of advanced regions, further strengthen the management of parks such as Fuhe Park, Ruziting Park and Bayi Park, do a good job in sanitation and cleaning, garden pruning and other work, strengthen the repair and daily maintenance of facilities, enhance the accessibility of roads around the parks, continuously enrich the layout of business types, and effectively improve the quality of urban parks, so as to provide better water-friendly leisure spaces for the common people.
