On June 24, the Party Working Committee of Ganjiang New Area held a meeting to earnestly study and implement the important remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping on paying attention to family, family education, and family values construction, and make arrangements for the implementation opinions of the New Area. Li Hongjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, Secretary of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Ganjiang New Area, presided over the meeting.
It was stressed at the meeting that it is necessary to take the lead in strengthening the construction of family, family education and family values, continuously build good families, strictly enforce family education and cultivate good family values, so as to build a solid family defense line against corruption and degeneration. One should be strict with oneself, set a good example, take the lead in abiding by all the regulations on clean governance, strictly observe the spirit of the central Party leadership’s eight-point decision on improving conduct and its detailed implementation rules, pay attention to details and nip problems in the bud, refrain from seeking privileges or personal gain, and set an example for one’s family with concrete actions. It is necessary to strictly enforce family education and manage relatives well. We should insist on integrating strict management with deep care throughout all aspects of family education. We should strictly require, educate and supervise our spouses, children and other relatives, promptly identify and correct nascent and trending problems, and pay attention to cultivating the legal awareness and discipline concept of family members, educating them to know and abide by the law and distinguish right from wrong. We should carry forward fine traditions, pay attention to the inheritance of family values, take the lead in inheriting and promoting traditional Chinese family virtues such as respecting the elderly and caring for the young, being thrifty and managing the household well, and maintaining harmony among neighbors. We should also draw nourishment from the red family traditions, learn the noble qualities of the revolutionary predecessors, such as being strict with themselves, working hard and maintaining integrity in family management, give full play to the exemplary and leading role of advanced models, vigorously publicize model families of integrity in family management, and create a strong atmosphere that values family traditions and upholds integrity.
